Where's the Rodham? Part I

In her autobiography, "Living History", she tells the story of when she ordered stationery for use during her husband's 1992 Presidential campaign.  She had specifically ordered paper with "Hillary Rodham Clinton" at the top, but someone on the campaign staff changed the order to drop the "Rodham" from her name.

Refusing to bow to an attitude she described in her book as “political expedient”, the order was returned, and new stationery was ordered with "Hillary Rodham Clinton" at the top.

On this date in Hillar-istory- 1999

First Lady Hillary Clinton, sitting on a podium in Ramallah, West Bank, listened to a speech by Suha Arafat, wife of PLO leader and Palestinian Authority President Arafat.  Suha Arafat's speech baselessly accused Israel of poisoning 80% of the water used by Palestinians, as well as using poison gas against Palestinians, which resulted in cancer and death among the Palestinian people.

Hillary Clinton was reported to have "nodded in approval" during these comments, and then issued a polite smile during the remainder of the speech. At the end of Suha Arafat's speech, Hillary Clinton hugged and kissed her, made no condemnation or counter-argument against Arafat's comments, and simply went on with her own prepared remarks.

Only hours later, after Hillary Clinton's lack of reaction to the speech created an uproar in both Israel and the United States, did she begin to issue a series of excuses.
