U.S. Public Service Academy

In 2007, Sen. Hillary Clinton, at a press conference on Capitol Hill, proposed the creation of a U.S. Public Service Academy.

Based on the U.S. military academies, the U.S. Public Service Academy would provide a free 4-year college education to as many as 5,000 students in return for a 5-year commitment to work as a teacher or in government.

Both teachers unions and government worker unions are strong supporters of the Democratic Party.

Hillary Used to Think Wal-Mart Was Great...

In 2006, the Associated Press reported that Sen. Hillary Clinton had begun to distance herself from her past association with Wal-Mart, a mega-retailer which is constantly under attack from union activists.

While her husband was serving as governor of Arkansas, Hillary Clinton was appointed to Wal-Mart's board of directors, where she served as a director for six years.  Hillary Clinton's firm, the Rose Law Firm, also earned a significant level of fees from its representation of Wal-Mart.

As compensation for her board service, Hillary Clinton was paid $18,000 per year, plus an additional $1,500 for each board meeting she attended.  Wal-Mart also gave the Clintons free use of its corporate planes a total of 14 times in 1990 and 1991 as Bill Clinton began his run for the 1992 Democratic Presidential nomination.

Hillary and the Yale Review of Law and Social Action

While a student at Yale Law School, Hillary Rodham served as an editor for the Yale Review of Law and Social Action.

During her term as editor, the Review published an issue with several anti-police cartoons, including:

-  a group of pigs in police uniforms grunting the "N-word"

-  another cartoon portraying a "police pig" under the heading "What is a Pig? A low-natured beast that has no regard for law, justice or the rights of people."

-  a third depicting a "police pig" being shot at, under the caption, "Seize The Time!"

Hillary Fights to Keep Impeachment Taboo

February 2007- The Washington Post reports that Sen. Hillary Clinton's Presidential campaign had put all of her competitors for the 2008 Democratic Presidential on notice that the issue of her husband's impeachment was a subject never to be mentioned.

Although quick to point out the positive moments of her husband's presidency, Sen. Hillary Clinton prefers to keep the issues relating to his impeachment on perjury and obstruction of justice in the past.

"We will likely never know the truth about Juanita Broaddrick's accusation against Bill Clinton.  It's virtually impossible to prove or defend against a 21-year-old rape charge. Perhaps the best way to respond is to call on President Clinton and his supporters not to launch a broadside against his accuser and to urge the president and the Congress to work to improve the status of women.

Now that she has come forward with her story, the National Organization for Women urges everyone to treat Juanita Broaddrick fairly and respectfully and to take her charges seriously.  She must not be besieged by attacks on her mental state or character.

NOW calls on President Clinton to denounce this "nuts or sluts" defense, the argument that she either made it up or asked for it.  The president should pledge publicly not to seek, or leak, irrelevant sexual history or other parts of Ms. Broaddrick's personal or work life, and not  to let anyone do so on his behalf."

HillaryCare- The Cost

February 1993- The New York Times reports that the latest estimates for Hillary Clinton's healthcare reform peg the projected cost between $30 million and $90 million.

In order to fund this spending, Mrs. Clinton's task force was reported to be considering taxes on insurance premiums, corporate health benefits, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and guns.

The 7-Step Evolution of Hillary's Iraq Positions:

Since voting to authorize war on Iraq, Sen. Hillary Clinton’s stances have shown a steady evolution, going through each of the following seven stages:

1)        She voted for the war;

2)        She questioned the intelligence that her arguments for war were based on;

3)        She claimed that the Bush administration had distorted the intelligence;

4)        She said that she didn't regret giving Bush authority to go to war, but she did regret the way he used that authority;

5)        She said that the war resolution wouldn’t have come to vote if we know what we know now;

6)        She said that a war resolution wouldn’t have passed if we knew what we know now; to finally

7)        Now saying that she wouldn't have voted for war if she knew then what she knows now.

David Geffen on the Clintons Redux

"We aren't going to get in the middle of a disagreement between the Clintons and someone who was once one of their biggest supporters. It is ironic that the Clintons had no problem with David Geffen when he was raising them $18 million and sleeping at their invitation in the Lincoln bedroom."

Hillary Clinton's brother, Hugh Rodham, returns the nearly $400,000 he received from two clients in return for his successful lobbying for their last-minute pardons from President Bill Clinton.  The press had recently uncovered the payments.

Almon Glenn Braswell, the first of the two pardons secured by Hugh Rodham on the last day of Bill Clinton's presidency, had already served his 5 year sentence for fraud relating to claims relating to a baldness cure.  The pardon by President Clinton wiped the conviction off of his record.

The second pardon secured by Rodham was for Carlos Vignali, who, at the time of the pardon, had served 5 of the 15 years he had been sentenced to for his conviction for trafficking 800 pounds of cocaine.   In addition to the fee paid to Hillary Clinton's brother, Vignali's family had been significant contributors to the Democratic Party over the years.

I Used to Think That Timetables for Withdrawal from Iraq were a BAD Idea...

On this date in Hillar-istory- 2005

"We don't want to send a signal to the insurgents, to the terrorists that we are going to be out of here at some, you know, date certain. I think that would be like a green light to go ahead and just bide your time. We want to send a message of solidarity."

... But Now I Think That Timetables are a GREAT Idea...

February 2007- Sen. Hillary Clinton introduces a bill (and simultaneously releases a video on her presidential campaign's website), requiring the President to begin withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq within 90 days.

"If George Bush doesn't end the war before he leaves office, when I'm president, I will,"
