Hillary Clinton and the sweatshop tycoon of Saipan

March 2006- The Hill reported on Sen. Hillary Clinton's acceptance of campaign donations from an alleged sweatshop operator

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, Willie Tan and members of his family contributed a total of $8,000 to "Friends of Hillary", the Senator's political action committee in late 2005.

Willie Tan has received great levels of condemnation from Democrats in the U.S. Congress, who accuse him of paying his garment factory workers substandard wages.  He has also cultivated relationships with Washington insiders to continue his home territory of the Marianas Protectorate's exemption from U.S. labor laws.
