"Will you be willing to speak up and say 'enough is enough' when women or minorities or the powerless are marginalized or degraded?  Will you say there is no place for disrespectful language or bigotry to be seen as funny or clever?"

Political donors' deep pockets can hold sticky contents for candidates

As reported by the LA Times, Haim Saban, a businessman and "fervent supporter of Hillary Clinton in her quest for the White House", is in the process of negotiating with the IRS to pay back as much as $300 million of unpaid taxes.  Saban utilized offshore tax shelters, a frequent target of Democrats' ire, to avoid being taxed on $1.5 million of capital gains.

Saban contributed more than $12 million to the Democrats and to Democratic candidates between 2001 and 2006.

A Federal judge holds President Bill Clinton in contempt of court for false testimony given during his deposition in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case.

Judge Susan Webber Wright, in her ruling, said that the President had provided false testimony in a deposition when he said that he had not had sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky.  The Judge also said that Clinton's actions had subverted the rule of law, and violated Ms. Jones' right to information relevant to her case.

In fining the President $1,202 (the Judge's travel costs to attend the deposition), the Judge noted that it was the first time in history that a President had ever been held in contempt of court

"The record demonstrates by clear and convincing evidence that the President responded to plaintiff's questions by giving false, misleading and evasive answers that were designed to obstruct the judicial process."

The White House admits that Bill & Hillary Clinton under-reported their income relating to commodities options trading on their 1980 tax returns. In paying the back taxes due to both the IRS and Arkansas tax authorities, the Clintons also owed interest on the taxes not paid, which increased the total amount due to $14,615.

The records released also contradicted claims by Hillary Clinton that she had gotten out of commodities trading during her pregnancy, due to the nerve-wracking nature of such trading. According to the newly released records, Hillary Clinton had her most active trading in the month after Chelsea was born, and continued trading until May 1980, three months after Chelsea was born.

The Clinton Administration admits that most of the highly-lucrative commodity trades in Hillary Clinton's investment account were in fact placed by James Blair, a friend and lawyer for the Tyson Foods Company, whose role Clinton Administration officials had previously described as only an adviser to Mrs. Clinton.  Tyson Foods, the biggest employer in Arkansas, would be subject to significant scrutiny by then- Attorney General Clinton, who a few months later became Arkansas Governor.

Initially, the Clinton Administration had claimed that Hillary Clinton had made all of her own trades based on her study of the Wall Street Journal.  Its next explanation was that Hillary Clinton had placed all of her own trades and did all decision-making, but that she had received advice from Mr. Blair.

Leo Melamed, former chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, who had been hired by the Clintons to prove the legality of their trading, did note that Hillary Clinton's account was "nondiscretionary", meaning that only Mrs. Clinton was legally permitted to place trades on the account.

NOW Statement on Bill Clinton Sexual Harassment Case

April 1998- The New York Times reports that great concern was raised in the women's rights community by President Bill Clinton's successful defense of charges of sexual harassment allegedly directed at Paula Jones. (The ruling was appealed by Ms. Jones and later settled out of court.)

Women's advocates worried that the dismissal could make men feel safer about making sexual advances on their female co-workers, and lead women to believe that they have no recourse. In her suit, Ms. Jones, a former Arkansas state employee, charged that while Governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton exposed himself to her and asked for oral sex. She accused him of having ruined her career with the state as payback for her refusal.

''If the C.E.O. of your company has you escorted to his room, strokes your hair, drops his pants, fondles his p***s and tells you to kiss it, that changes your job, immediately, in a lasting way,'' said Kathy Rodgers, executive director of the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund. ''The law on sexual harassment is supposed to deter that kind of conduct.

''This decision might leave employers saying that as long as you harass one woman at a time, and only once, you don't have a problem. And it may leave women feeling there's nothing they can do about serial gropers.''

Former Sen. Bill Bradley (D-NJ) on Hillary Clinton

Former Sen. Bill Bradley (D-NJ) on a Healthcare Meeting with First Lady Hillary Clinton Where She Threatened to “Demonize” Anyone Who Proposed Changes to Her Plan:

"That was it for me in terms of Hillary Clinton. You don't tell members of the Senate you are going to demonize them. It was obviously so basic to who she is. The arrogance. The assumption that people with questions are enemies. The disdain. The hypocrisy."

Hillary Clinton Apologizes for Rumor Mongering

"It was a mistake.  People were asking me questions at the time and I responded, but nobody knows better than I the pain that can be caused by ever discussing rumors in private conversation."

- Hillary Clinton apologizing for passing on unsubstantiated innuendo about alleged extramarital affairs of George H.W. Bush that appeared in an interview published in the May 1992 issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

Gail Sheehy, who interviewed Hillary Clinton for the article, said that she had spoken to Mrs. Clinton shortly before the interview was published, and said that Mrs. Clinton "didn't back away from it."

Hillary Clinton Meets Man Who Gave Her 2 L's

April 1995- The photo op of a lifetime was almost missed, as logistical problems almost prevented Hillary and Chelsea from meeting Sir Edmund Hillary.  Mrs. Clinton, who was traveling with her daughter on a goodwill mission to India, was to spend an evening with Sir Edmund Hillary, for whom the First Lady claims to have been named.  Due to mechanical problems, Sir Edmund's flight from New Zealand had been delayed, and their time together was unfortunately limited to a few minutes on the airport runway.

Mrs. Clinton confessed that her mother, Dorothy Rodham, had read an article about the intrepid Edmund Hillary, a one-time beekeeper who had taken to mountain climbing, when she was pregnant with her daughter in 1947 and liked the name.

"It had two l's, which is how she thought she was supposed to spell Hillary," Mrs. Clinton told reporters after the brief meeting on the tarmac, minutes before her Air Force jet flew past the peak of Everest itself. "So when I was born, she called me Hillary, and she always told me it's because of Sir Edmund Hillary."

Rumor Mongering

"She (Cox Newspapers Chairwoman Anne Cox Chambers)'s sittin' there in her sun room saying, 'You know, I just don't understand why they think they can get away with this  -- everybody knows about George Bush,' and then launches into this long description of, you know, Bush and his carrying on, all of which is apparently well-known in Washington."
