May 2007- Hillary Clinton causes a buzz on the internet by posting a video on YouTube inviting people to log onto her campaign's website to vote for her campaign theme song. This buzz also worked as an invitation for critics to come up with alternative theme songs that they thought more appropriate, such as:
“Maneater”, (Hall and Oates) by New York Times columnist David Brooks
“Baby Got Back”, (Sir Mix-A-Lot) by radio host Rush Limbaugh
“It’s the End of the World as We Know It” (R.E.M.); and
“Eve of Destruction” (Barry McGuire) by Townhall.com's Jon Sanders
The New Republic invited suggestions on its website, leading to recommendations such as:
“Cold as Ice” (Foreigner)
“She’s So Cold” (Rolling Stones)
“Vicious” (Lou Reed)
