…but I Used to Think It was a Really Bad Idea Before!

"We are concerned that the ethanol mandate will drive up the price of gasoline for consumers, have mixed environmental results, and do little to lessen America's dependence on foreign oil. Moreover, this mandate is simply unnecessary and amounts to a new hidden gas tax."

Ethanol is a Really Good Idea, Now That I'm A Presidential Candidate Campaigning in Farm States...

"I believe we've got to take a strong stand on limiting our dependence on foreign oil. And we have a perfect example about how it can work right here in Iowa with all the ethanol that's being produced here."

Hillary's Theme Song- Some Alternatives?

May 2007-  Hillary Clinton causes a buzz on the internet by posting a video on YouTube inviting people to log onto her campaign's website to vote for her campaign theme song.  This buzz also worked as an invitation for critics to come up with alternative theme songs that they thought more appropriate, such as:

“Maneater”, (Hall and Oates) by New York Times columnist David Brooks

“Baby Got Back”, (Sir Mix-A-Lot) by radio host Rush Limbaugh

“It’s the End of the World as We Know It” (R.E.M.); and

“Eve of Destruction” (Barry McGuire) by Townhall.com's Jon Sanders

The New Republic invited suggestions on its website, leading to recommendations such as:

“Cold as Ice” (Foreigner)

“She’s So Cold” (Rolling Stones)

“Vicious” (Lou Reed)

Sen. Hillary Clinton picks up the endorsement of former New York City Mayor David Dinkins in her run for the Presidency.

"I'm with Hillary Clinton.  You see, Dominic, if you go to the dance and you bring a girl to the dance and then you arrive at the dance and you see another girl who's got charisma and she's attractive and articulate and whatnot, you don't leave the girl you brought, you stay with your friends; and Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton campaigned for me, and I will never forget it."

May 2007- Fidelis, a national Roman Catholic advocacy group, calls on Hillary Clinton to remove an image of Blessed Mother Teresa used in a campaign video.

"It is wholly inappropriate, disrespectful and disturbing that Hillary Clinton is using an image of Blessed Mother Teresa as a political tool, especially given their radically different views on abortion. Mother Teresa tirelessly fought to protect unborn children, while Hillary Clinton staunchly supports abortion on demand in all nine months of pregnancy, including partial birth abortion and taxpayer funding of abortion. Out of respect to Mother Teresa, and the Missionaries of Charity strict guidelines for the use of Mother’s image, we call on the Hillary Clinton campaign to immediately remove her image from their campaign video.

The Washington Post reports that former Clinton Associate Attorney General Webster Hubbell was paid a total of $704,152. by various friends of President Bill Clinton and Democratic supporters between 1994 and 1996, while performing little or no work to earn those fees.

At the time of the payments, Hubbell had stepped down from his position with the Clinton Administration due to his indictment for having defrauded his former clients and partners, and was believed to have been tempted to cooperate with Whitewater investigators in return for a plea deal.

Hubbell published a memoir in 1997 in which he said of his consulting deals: "it wasn't hush money".
